Intense Prayer

Isaiah 42:4
he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth. In his law the islands will put their hope."

Jesus would not falter or be discouraged. He's never been discouraged! Jesus Christ never missed a Quiet Time.

Only God does the work. God use us. Will I be a lasting useful gold for God?

When people think it is too hard = bad relationship with God.

Jesus Christ was never discouraged.

Spirit is a fire, Spirit is a wind, Spirit is water, Spirit is Sword.

1. Must be real faith

John 15:5
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Apart from me you can do nothing. I Corinthians Chapter 3 God gives the increase.

Our prayer needs to be a encounter with God. Be intense in asking? Rachel and Hannah begged for fruit.

John 15:6-8
6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.
7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.
8 This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

No fruit = bad relationship with God.

Food frome Vine.

1 Corinthians 3:5-7
5 What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe--as the Lord has assigned to each his task.
6 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.
7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.

God makes it grow. Beg God for fruit.

A. Faith must be growing

Psalm 66:1-20
1 For the director of music. A song. A psalm. Shout with joy to God, all the earth!
2 Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious!
3 Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you.
4 All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you, they sing praise to your name." Selah
5 Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works in man's behalf!
6 He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot-- come, let us rejoice in him.
7 He rules forever by his power, his eyes watch the nations-- let not the rebellious rise up against him. Selah
8 Praise our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard;
9 he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping.
10 For you, O God, tested us; you refined us like silver.
11 You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs.
12 You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.
13 I will come to your temple with burnt offerings and fulfill my vows to you--
14 vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble.
15 I will sacrifice fat animals to you and an offering of rams; I will offer bulls and goats. Selah
16 Come and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me.
17 I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue.
18 If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;
19 but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer.
20 Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!

Worshipful prayers, filled with joy and songs, sung from heart.

(i) Prayers must be pure

Don't cherish sin in your heart (v8).Holy Spirit does not work through sinful people.

(ii) Prayers must be in Jesus name.

Don't just take it on end of prayer.

B. Pure Prayers

Cherished sin in heart, taking advantage of church, lying about ministry, stealing money, attitudes towards brothers and sisters keeps us impure. (v18).

C. Prayers must be worshipful.

We need to be fired-up in our Quiet Times.

2. Must have real hope

Keep on persevering. Keep preaching. Rain, illness.. should not stop us. Attitude of gratitude.

Luke 17:5-10
5 The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!"
6 He replied, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you.
7 "Suppose one of you had a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Would he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, 'Come along now and sit down to eat'?
8 Would he not rather say, 'Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink'?
9 Would he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do?
10 So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.'"

Only want to be with God. Attitude of being nothing and God being all.

Love - must love deeply - help me to love everyone.
